Sew Night show and tell

I just love to show you what we all are doing.  Lana's 2.5 inch squares.

My blue Heaven from a class that Becky took at Quilt Walk.
LauRetta took this class from Emily Bailey at Quilt Walk also.

Is this an awesome idea?  Claudia is making these from her new book.  Sorry I still don't have the name of it.
this quilt is for a class Claudia is teaching at Page this year.  It is called pick up stix.  I took the class from her at Quilt Walk and the quilt was one of my all time favorites.
These next two quilts, Lana made from one Jelly roll.

More show and tell

I love this one of Florences, It looks traditional but there is a little something unexpected in it.

Crystal had some fun things to show.  I love the race horse, then she is making seasonal covers for a couch pillow.

Katherine finished these next two.  I think she she said this one was one of her UFO's
and that this one was one she did from Jenny's tutorial on a technique by the 3 dudes.

More show and tell

This quilt is one that Claudia is teaching at the Ruby's retreat in February.

Becky got her Bargello back from the quilter.  I heard her say she was giving it to her sister. She also finished her Chicken quilt.  So dang cute.

Love this finished Jelly roll race quilt.

This is a finish of the quilts our guild made last year.
This is Crystals but I am sorry I I can't remember the name.  Crystal if you read this can you add the name in comments?

This is Crystals pinwheel quilt that she and Keela taught last winter.
and her hexie quilt.
and table runner.  Look at that quilting.
I love snowballs and 4 patches and what a cute line.

Keela got her star back from the quilters.  Wow.

Katherine found this one she had taken a class on and finished it up.

We had Quilt Guild tonight and I forgot my camera.

Then I realized that I hadn't shown last months show and tell.  I was share worthy so I'll still share it!
This is Crystals quilt made at Quiltwalk summer of 13.  It was taught by Brenda Bailey of Pie Plate Patterns  Its called Indiana Avenue.

Claudia has a new book and she said she love every single pattern in the book so she is going to make them all.  Here is the first one.  WOW!

Sandy made this fun quilt for  a granddaughter.

this is sandy's Chevron

Nellie made this braid using her half hexi ruler.  I might have to do this one.
Holy smoke..this is Shuree's mystery quilt from last year.  It is hardly recognizable.  I love it.
Sheree always  has something new and unexpected.
Some of the ladies decided to do this pattern.  I was not fast enough to get everyone,  i am thinking these are adorable.

I think I am going to do it....Have you seen the inspiration for Bonnie Hunters new Mystery quilt?

Grand Illusion

The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island  is one place I have always wanted to visit.  Bonnie used this hotel as the inspiration  for her new mystery quilt.  The quilt is titled Grand Illusion.  I was

intrigued already but then she shows us the pictures that inspired the fabric she is using and I was sold.  Of course you don't have to use these colors but,  I will if I can get them to play nice together.

Here are some pictures I found on the internet of the hotel.

Here are the awnings she talked about.  I think I went to gold with my fabric.  I love yellow so I think I will try to find a more clear yellow.

Oh my  Look at that pink.  I love it!  I know the background is black but my monitor is reading navy.  That might be pretty too.

More of the  bright yellow.

What a beautiful room.

I am definitely going to go there someday.  Beautiful.  I can't wait to see the Grand Illusion.

I have pulled some fabric but I am not loving it yet.  It need something but I'm not sure what.  I am taking suggestions.

Any way if you are interested in learning more about this Mystery Quilt you can find it directly from the designer herself Bonnie Hunter Mystery.
