These are some of the classes that were taught at the festival this year.

I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted because, I was busy taking classes.  Did I mention I had the most fun at my classes.  More about that later.

One of the volunteers at the front desk told me this is the best place to be because everyone who walks by is smiling and having a good time.  Whats not to like?  quilts, quilting classes and good friends?

There were so many great quilts in the show this year, which is yours.

Every one has their favorite quilts so I won't choose but if you see one that speaks to you let us know.

Some of our awesome teachers and classes.
 this is Lynette's watermelon quilt,

Saundra hates to have her picture taken during class.
Can you tell ? ( she is the one standing.)

Melissa teaching her refracted class.  She looks like she is having so much fun teaching.   I love looking at the fabric everyone chooses.

Wait till you see the classes the Green Tomatoe Girls are offering

Moonlight buddies is all wool applique.  Aren't those to just to cute.

I know some of the ladies that are super excited to be taking this class.

They taught this class and the Sisters one two years ago I think.

Alice said this is their most popular.  You can check them out at green tomatoes

I think this one is super cute.
I asked the ladies to tell a little about themselves and this is what Alice said,
"Whitley" is the quilt we are to teach this year (I hope) and also "Moonlight Buddies" which is strictly wool applique. It is a good way to learn the basics of wool applique--it is so easy to do! Even people who don't like to do applique have really enjoyed it. We offer kits for both of them if they are pre-ordered

Last year we introduced the "Design and Create in 5". It is a simple pattern combined with a special assembly method that allows you to complete the quilt top in 5 hours or less. The pattern front shows it in 4 different color waves and different borders ideas. The beauty of this quilt (besides being able to put it together quickly) is it can be personalized to any theme you choose. If you come by our booth, you will see several adaptations and get some ideas to get started. You can easily use fabrics from your stash or check out the kits we have with the fabrics already pre-selected. It is great for wedding presents, baby quilts, TV quilts, wall hangings etc. It can be expanded or shrunk to any size desired. It is just so versatile--anyone can do it!"

No tears, Promise or fast, fun and fantastic

Sandy Varley is teaching this Happy Scrappy Bargello quilt at the festival this year.  She is making another sample with batiks.  Oh I love these bright colors.  This is what she says about it on the class schedule. "Fast, fun, and fantastic, this quilt is guaranteed to make a big dent in your fabric stash. Choose a color or fabric theme or just go scrappy and go to town! The more fabrics, the merrier!"

Here is where she promises no more tears. No tears tumbling blocks, No Y seams on these blocks.  I am fascinated with how they go together without the Y's.

Don't you just love these wonky stars?!!

This is Emily Baileys first class for this years festival.  This class will be Friday evening.  What a fun time to take this class.  Class is called I'm a Maverick Star.

Emily is so good with scrappy quilts.  All day Saturday she is teaching this amazing quilt.  I saw this pattern last year at Quilts Etc.  and thought it was one for the list.    Doesn't the name Breath just feel right for it.  How did you come up with the name Emily?

This is the first time I have seen it in color.  Love it.  This black and white with red is so classy.

I asked Emily to tell use a little about herself
"Last year was my first year at Panguitch and it was great! Everyone is so kind. I went by myself but never felt alone. I made many new friends and it was wonderful.

I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. My mom gave me my first machine when I was in the fifth grade. One that she had won in the state fair for a dress she had sewn for me. I have many found memories sewing on that machine. In high school I took marketing and fashion merchandising along with sewing classes. I had high hopes of becoming a fashion designer. But those plans changed when I met my hubby and had three sons. Sewing for little boys got boring pretty fast when they no longer thought knickers and sailor suits were cool. So I took up quilting. I was hooked immediately. I started designing and selling patterns by accident. When my baby went to kindergarten I needed something to fill my time. I started sewing displays for a local shop. After showing the owner a quilt of my own design she asked me to make it into a pattern to sell in the shop. I did this a couple of times then started selling to other shops. It has been very rewarding for me to meet shop owners, teach classes and meet wonderful quilters. I think they are some of the most caring and generous people. I feel very blessed to be among them. I am currently on the Utah Quilt Guild board over charity quilts. This is keeping me busy doing what I love and lets me meet a lot more talented quilters.

My mom has always been a inspiration to me. She has encouraged me to develope my talents. I am so thankful for her example and support. My dear hubby, three sons and darling daughter help me any way they can. I appreciate their input and love when one of them joins me in my sewing room. "

This is one of Emily's classes from last year.  So cute.  The pattern is
Snips and Snails meets Sugar and Spice by Emily
This next one is the harvest sky class she taught last year also.  These are pictures of students progress.  I love seeing these in different fabrics.

Nanette"s blog has more pictures of these quilts

Today Nanette has great pictures of her quilts from my last post up and some more info.  Nanette's classes

Also for up to date information as to  what is going on at the festival check out what Claudia has to say.  She was telling me that the "Last Supper" quilt will be at our festival this year.  How cool is that.   Just in case you did not know.  This quilt, the logo for the festival this year was made by claudia.  It is fantastic.  The two small quilts are true down to the last detail.

It is up! The classes are posted. Now how do I choose?

 Quilt Walk Quilt Classes
Oh my, there are baskets, and bags even one crocheted from fabric.  There is a class in Brazilian Embroidery. I have seen the awesome memory album and  there are more quilts that I am sure I have to do. There are just not enough hours in the festival.  They are even having classes to teach you to use your own sewing machine to quilt your quilts.  I know many of you already do that but I have only hand quilted quilts and now I send them out to the professionals.  Maybe I should give that a try.

Right off I can see a conflict on Saturday.  I have wanted to do a hunters star (#55) quilt for a long time.  Last year I saw this fantastic black and white quilt (# 50)that I put on my list.  Then on the same day at the same time there is Judy's purse (very cute) (#59) and Pam's basket(#54).  How do I make a decision.  Very often I will wait until the one I want is full.  I vowed not to do that this year but maybe that will narrow down the choices.  I am going over to feast on all the eye candy over there and check out all the classes. Be sure to click on the quilts to get a better picture.  I will post more about them later.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

Enjoy!
