Do you all remember these? Finishes

Dianne took the feathered star class at the QuiltWalk last summer.  It is awesome piecing.  She made it into a baby quilt.  Notice the boots in each corner.  I love the color scheme and what a great idea for a little boy.  This little boy came early so she was glad to have the quilt done.  It has minki on the back and is so soft. 

This cute baseball quilt has baseballs quilted into each corner.  There is minki on the back of this one too. 

 Obviously I don't know how to move the pictures around.  This should have been the first one.

She  has this quilt finished.  The baby has it now.  It turned out great.

this is it before binding but oh my, is it a total little boy--the name of the pattern is "rough and tumble"  it just fits.

We are all getting anxious for Wednesday, we have not had sew night since November and it is time to get back to it.

Posting to tell you about another blog.

Remember my dil holly who makes those amazing mini albums? Mini album and more and a paper bag album.  Well she has started her own blog.  She is so talented and can do just about anything she puts her mind to. I can't wait to see what she will do next.  Give her a visit if you get a minute.  I think she may be teaching a class at the Quilt Walk this year. 

Becky sent me some pictures of the projects she did over the holidays.  She was fast and did some way cute quilts and gifts. She even quilted them herself.  Way to go Becky. I have been working on getting them resized.

Ok I really wanted a post on 1-1-11. I am adding to my list.

Today I was reviewing the year on Sherri's blog and found more that have been on my list for a while.  I love Sherri's blog as she seems to use colors and patterns that speak to me.  It is incredible.  This quilt is by a fig tree quilt called "paper roses."

this pattern called ""al a mode" is by  Camille  I think.  This  has been on the list since I first saw it on Sherri 's blog last year. 

I am going to have to quit reviewing the blogs now or I will surely fail with my 2011 list.  These quilts were made by Sherri.

A gift and a plan

This cook book was a gift from a very good friend.  Neither one of us cooks much anymore but she laughed and said she enjoyed reading it and I have too. It was as good as a novel and took about the same amount of time.  I read recipe after recipe.  That baked Alaska on the front looks Delicious.  I haven't made baked Alaska in years but if I remember it was not that hard.  Maybe I should try it again and get the  girls excited about it.

Now to the plan...  I plan to finish all my bindings and never cut a quilt without cutting the binding again.    I also plan to really start on my list.  Not just add to it as it is getting out of control.   I am going to do a black and white quilt for my daughter to take to college--that is what she is asking for--I don't have a pattern yet for this so if you have seen a great black and white one let me know.

This quilt by Heather Mulder Peterson is on my list and soon to be on my cutting table.....Unless I begin with

this gorgeous Snibble.  I even have this very fabric.  Carrie told me what it was and even where I could find some, what a nice lady. It was a season old by the time the book came out.  It is an April Cornell fabric--I can't remember the name.  Speaking of Carrie, I am crazy about her new line of fabric, fresh palette. 

Then on my list for the last 5 years is this Meet me in Paris quilt by Johnalee .  I think I am intimidated to begin cutting all those fan blades. 

Wish me luck because you know there will be a ton of distractions in blogland and then there will be the quilt retreat at Bryce Canyon and then of course the Quilt Walk.
