Ok I usually don't do this but I love the Dr. Suess Fabric

Did I say I love the Dr.Suess Fabric.

There is a give away of this fabric going on over at Dawns Quilt Corner. It is  for a really nice stack of this fabric.  Go on over there if you love it also.  When my children were little we read most of the beginner books many times.  I added this picture of the quilt that I want to make from this fabric for my friends at two peas. 

This fabric makes me happy. I have not seen it IRL just on the internet I hope one of us wins. 

Bonnie  is also having a giveaway of some of the famous Bliss fabric.  This quilt is made with bliss.

Ok, I am going to count this as a finish.

Even though I still need to sew down the binding.  I wish I had seen the tutorial for the piped border before I sewed the binding on. I have that tutorial bookmarked on my regular computer but since it is down, I will have to get back to you on that one. I think I will still try to machine sew it, you all know how much I love to bind.  Not.  The fabric is the pink lemonade line I bought in fat quarters from  Johna'Lees shop over a year ago.

This is for my sweet new granddaughter for christmas.  She is not brand new (about 7 months) so I think she will like the texture of the minki on the back.

I love the way Melanie quilted the squares and pinwheels with the circles.  I actually love the feel of this quilt.  Maybe I can cuddle under it with the baby.

I do like the way this book came out.

I give the credit to Holly for her instructions. It was fun to do. I have seen the one she will be teaching at the Quilt Walk this year and it is beautiful.

I don't have the words on the front yet but this is it otherwise.  The paper is called Laundry Line by My Minds Eye.

I liked the idea of leaving the right hand side page for journaling.

This is a gift to my dear cousin.  She is the only one who gets it about home made gifts. 

I sewed on some of these and although you can't really see it, it looks pretty good with the stiches on it.  I think I might try that again.

Sorry for not being a better blogger.

I lost a much loved aunt this month after a short illness and have just not wanted to do any thing except the bare necessities. 

As a result Christmas has been on hold at my house.  We finally got the tree decorated last night.  I couldn't quite do a theme so we stuck on all the ornaments that came out first.    The tree looks crooked in this but IRL it isn't.

I have had the Madame Alexander Angel on the tree since my boys were little and I didn't ever think I would have any girls.  Santa brought it to me one year.

As you can see from underneath the tree I had probably better hit the internet tonight to see if I can get some presents to wrap up.

When I was a  little girl my grandmother saw this abandoned birds nest in the rafters up under a bridge near her house.  She climbed up the bridge to get the nest.  I remember thinking that was very funny for an old grandma to do that.  She was younger than I am now when she did this and she was not old at all. (from my perspective now.)  Anyway she had sewn small ornaments on it and it is still very soft and intact.  She told me if my Christmas tree had a nest in it, it ment good luck for the next year.  This nest is over 50 years old and I put it in the tree every year. 

At one time our tree was themed and it was crystal and gold.  We had several of these ballerinas but are now down to two. 

This carousel horse was another one we had about twelve of but are down to two.   

I have been working on my book that we made at sew nights and a good thing to since it is a Christmas present.  I will show it to you another day.
