We are home from 3 days of Stadium of Fire. The dancers practice for 3 days. Carrie Underwood is a great entertainer. She finished one song with the hymn "How Great Thou Art," it was amazing. The program didn't go to long as it has some times in the past, the dancers were good. There were tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat as members of each military unit came and their song was played. Growing up patriotism was taught at home, at school, everywhere. I am not sure that young people get that anymore. Being raised by those of WW2 generation practically insured it. The favorite for many and me included was the fly over. I love that stuff. We were trying to leave a minute early and one of the cylinder that the fireworks were in bounced off my daughters. It was a little scary. We read in the paper the next day there had been a malfunction. The daughter that was dancing said it worked perfectly the night before. The parking was not to far from the field only two lots over. That is where trouble began.... It took over an hour to get out of the parking lot.
Many places are celebrating the fourth today but since we are not I am having a nice quiet day at home. I saw a cake you all might like to take a look at but I could not get the picture to move over, so here is the link. Be sure to go down until you see the inside.
Have a good day.
enjoy!
Just stopping by to thank you for the sweet comment you left on my blog today. I wish I could have been at the Stadium of Fire this year! We were in Provo the weekend before, and didn't want to make the drive 2 weekends in a row. After reading your post, we should have!
ReplyDeleteSo scary!
