Quilt Guild Show and tell

We had our service work night last Wednesday.  We have two quilts cut out and sewn together except for center rows that are almost complete.  We will be donating these cute quilts to sub for Santa projects in both Panguitch and Bryce Valley.  It went so fast and we were so busy chatting and sewing, and pressing, and stitching that I totally forgot to take pictures.  I will show you next time.  We had show and tell before we started on our projects and these are from that.
Roxanne made this giant Churn Dash, remember the bright one Claudia made last summer.  Roxanne has a new long arm quilter and wants to try it out on this one with lots of white space.

Isn't this pretty

Claudia showed this quilt top that Nan made and decided she didn't like so Claudia said she was glad to take it off her hands.
Claudia has these Eagle panels that she is making into quilts for grandsons who receive their Eagle Scout awards.
She said she saw round baby quilts on pinterest and decided to try one.  Cute cute cute.
A few years ago there was a coloring book that told "the quilt walk story."  One of Pat O's friends took that and embroidered the pictures.  Pat asked Claudia to put it into a quilt.
This is Lorna's Dresden plate block from Bonnie's Class at Ruby's Inn retreat.
Shannon got her churn dash quilt
back and it is really nice.
She had bought the pattern for this hexagon quilt but hadn't gotten to it.  This is one her sister made for her.

One busy lady.

Katheryn got a bunch of quilts back from the quilter and brought them for show and tell.
This was a Mystery she had done.

When she held this up she said can you see the mistake.  I would have never seen it if she didn't point it out and then I didn't think it was a real mistake.

Love the colors in this disappearing 9 patch.

Such a striking quilt.

She made reversible aprons for each of her daughters for their birthdays.  These are the last two.

Emily is teaching the Mad Dash and Sunshine on a Cloudy Day quilts.

We love Emily's classes at Quilt Walk  Here are the two quilts she will be teaching.  Emily's classes fill up pretty fast so if you want one of these check them out.   Mad Dash is #14 on Thursday afternoon.
This quilt just makes you happy, I think it would be perfect for a boys room.  Oh wait maybe a girl.  I think it is for anyone.

Sunshine on a Cloudy day is #9 on Thursday morning.

Check out Emily's blog  she is always doing something creative.

Oh my goodness ladies!

We went to quilt guild last night and when I got in the car Linda said have you signed up for your classes yet?  I was still figuring it out, so no!  well 5 classes are closed because they are full and they have opened up a second section of 3 of the full classes.  They are filling up so fast.  I came home and signed right up.  Of course the "I can't believe it's machine applique" class is full but they opened up another one so I registered for that.  Also, paper piecing has sounded scary to me so signed up for class #44 beginning paper piecing.

The other classes that are full and they were able to open up a second section of are, Metro Rings and Over the Edge Binding.  Anyway hurry if you want a good selection.

Dianne was our mystery quilter last night.  She always has beautiful quilts.  I think this plaid  is one of my favorites.
She is redoing her daughters room and this is what she made for it.  It is really striking and fun.
I saw her putting this one together and it looked like puzzle.  She said she enjoyed it.
ok all, if you are coming to Quilt Walk Retreat get your registration in.

I am trying to sort out the classes I want to take.

Of course there are way more classes I want to take than I possibly can.  I promise myself every year that I will limit what I take so I don't get burned out.  One year I signed up for an all day class on Saturday, had my fabric etc. but could not get to sewing.  I still have the fabric and pattern but haven't gotten any further.  So this year with a wedding in the family coming up the week end after quilt walk, I am trying to keep it to two.

I think I will take this class.  When I signed up for the ultimate round robin all the best ideas I had would have needed machine applique.  I did not use those ideas because I didn't really feel confident with the machine applique, so this class is on my for sure list.  It is taught by Carmen Geddes and is ...wait for it...Machine applique.  Class # 1.
Now off to figure out the rest.

On my way to Ruby's Winter Quilt Retreat!

On my way out for " meet the teachers trunk show" I stopped by to see what was going on at sew night.  Shannon had finished this top from blocks that Helen put together.
great work Helen
 and Shannon.
I got to Meet the teachers but of course was in a rush.  I was so busy taking pictures I didn't write down the names of who's quilts were who's.  I thought I would remember.  Not so much, sorry, but these are great eye candy.

love the dark and light here.

Wait until you see the other side of the colorful chevron....

she did an eye spy on the opposite side.

These next two are Claudia's.  This on is called turbulence.  Yes, I took the class and Claudia is a great teacher but I was feeling somewhat turbulent as I put this puzzle quilt together.  The ones done in class no matter what fabric was chosen worked out beautifully.
I have the fabric to do this one but was not able to attend during the day.  Everyone said it was a fun fun class and they got lots done.
