Its been a fast week

I even missed writing about sew night on wednsday.  Blogger is not letting me upload any pictures so I will try again tomorrow.  Check back.  By the way I recieved my quilted works newsletter today with the new class schedule in it and Nedra is teaching several classes I wanted to take.  Remember the mumbo jumbo( sorry it is mumbo gumbo) from last week?  Nedra everyone of your classes look fun.  I hope I can make one of them.

More of Donna's trunk show

This red and purple quilt is very red hat society.

I love the simplicity of Donna's blocks but the quilts just pop with color and style.

Cute I spy.  This is the one she showed us how to make these blocks in a new simple way.  At least it was new to me.  I will try to put it together, take pictures, and put it up soon.

these are such great fall colors.
I love the simplicity of nine patch but how complex it looks..
Donna said she really liked this quilt even though it is very different from what she usually does.
The black on this really popped the rail fence.

I really want to do a border like this next one.

Black and white at its best.  She said the first one is a nine patch cut and put back together.  the second black and white is bordered in pink.  So pretty.

Last one.  Called Mumbo Gumbo.  I think I saw Nedra do one of these.  Now another one for the list.

She had more but the camera gave out.

Enjoy!

Bryce Canyon Quilters

Our guild had a great night of quilts.  I had a scheduling conflict so was going to be a few minutes late.  I picked up my camera and headed out.  When I got there Lillian was unveiling the top she made from one of Bonnies classes.

It was fabulous, however, my camera would not turn on.  Why did I not check?   Bev was taking pictures so I am borrowing these from her.  Thanks Bev.
Becky has been making these cowboy booties and has the pattern in her store.  Are they too cute

I was fussing with my camera but I think this is Marie's daughters quilt.

This is a new one from Mary lou.  She had three to show us.  Sorry it is blurry.
This is her fabulous black and white all quilted.
This was just show and tell.  Then we had a trunk show by Donna who used to be part of the quild and had stories to tell.  Donna now lives in Santa Clara.  It was good to see her and fun to see her quilts.  Sorry this is blurry but I loved the blues in this floating star quilt.

Sampler.

Ok for some reason I am getting a big red x on the pictures.  I will finish what I have of the trunk show tomorrow and maybe a tutorial on how Donna showed us how to do her I spy block.

Enjoy!

It was the week for sew night.

I don't know what happened but I had a post almost ready to go, it dissappeared.   That should teach me to save more often.  So now I will try again.  Anyway Wednesday was sew night.  Getting together with friends is the best.

Jerilu got three quilts back from the quilter.  Shari of its quilted did the quilting and did great job.  I am not sure which is my favorite but these are awesome quilts.
Jerilu made this quilt to hang in the H&R.  I think she said they had kits of this made up.  I may need one.

close up of the fabric.  I forgot to ask her what lines she used.

I love the blocks on this wonky quilt.  I think I may have to try this.  Each center is the same but each block is so different.  I love yellow so I think when I do it I will try to use yellow also.   I don't know about you but my quilts kind of have a mind of their own and I say I will use yellow but then the quilt will tell me something else.  Which is why I have quite a few blocks without borders in my closet.

This quilt was lost we were afraid the pieces had been found by someone who did not know what it was.  We were relieved when it turned up.  I wish I had taken a close up of the quilting on the sheep they look so fluffy.

Some how this ended up below the Christmas quilt but I wanted to put a closeup of this block in.

I am still having trouble with this blog post so I will post the rest of the pictures later.  Enjoy!

Another Album by Holly

This one is a little smaller and is I think made of chipboard.
These papers remind me of fabric.

even the flowers are embossed.

Enjoy!

Look what my daughter in law Holly made.

She really has an eye and a talent for colors and design.

this is called a paper bag album.

I love the details.

You can't see it but some of the paper is glittery and it is eye catching.

Last page.

Another one tomorrow.  I would love to make one of these.

Enjoy!

finally a finish...Many more to go.

This is the fat quarter shop BOM. I wish I hadn't let that green ornament end up in the middle of the hat.  I am already behind but I am loving this Kate Spain Christmas fabric.
If you are doing this BOM I would love to see your blocks.

Enjoy!

Super cute.

Aren't they just the cutest patterns.  I am sure they are way beyond me, but I might have to try a couple of these dolls and one or two of the cars.  These quilts are by Kellie, of don't look now .  She has some fantastic applique patterns on her blog.  I am now on the hunt for these patterns.  I guess I just want the pattern, I have only taken on applique class and was not to successful but this makes me want to try again.
These are worry dolls but they look anything but to me.  super cute.  I can think of so many times these would be fun to use.
The colors are so fun.  What little guy would not love this quilt.?

Enjoy!
